Have Our Oil Reserves Peaked? (Infographic)
Peak oil is a hotly debated topic. One with many views and so little answers. The term peak oil was originally coined by M. King Hubbert in the 1950s.
M. King Hubbert theory suggests that there is a point at which we will reach the maximum rate of oil extraction which will enter terminal decline resulting in huge lifestyle and economic changes across the world.
On the face of it, the event of peak oil sounds like a terrifying one. But should we be worried at all? Are our oil reserves grossly underestimated or are our alternative energy solutions enough to off-set the damage that peak oil could cause?
Take a look at the infographic below as we explore this theory.
