The first job provided by Balfour Beatty Rail saw CTB putting in 11 steel crossings between Watford and Betchley as part of the major rail network maintenance package.
As well as the expected hazards involved with working on the railways, the tight working area restrictions that all contractors had to tolerate on this contract meant that bringing the job in in 11 weeks against a target of 13 was a particularly significant achievement.
