Silverstone and Oulton Park

"Life in the fast lane just doesn’t get any more high profile than these jobs."
After the disastrous parking problems at the 2001 Grand Prix a major maintenance and improvement programme kicked off ahead of the 2002 race, with CTB at the centre of the action and of the track.
There were over 1500 metres of trenchless drilling needed to lay new drainage pipes, new watermains under the British Racing Club stand and relaying fire pumping mains. Work was still in progress only weeks before the annual invasion (with a four day British Superbikes event to run during the course of the works).
Andy Howe had the privilege of watching Michael Schumacher practicing with Ferrari – Michael is still regaling his house guests with stories about Andy as well!
Soon after the Silverstone job, Brian Morris of F.M. Conway (the main contractor) had no doubts about appointing CTB for an even bigger pipe jacking job at Oulton Park – not quite as exciting even if more challenging professionally.
