Hoddesdon's New Business Park

No new business park development is quite the simple set of structures that they seem to be staring out on the motorways of Britain (and we’ve worked a good few of them).

Molegrove’s Hoddesdon job was probably our worst for a long time as we set up our 300 metre augur bore to lay 225 and 150 clay drain pipes for the development’s new drainage infrastructure.

With appalling ground conditions and working to 2.5 metres we were 2 metres below a water table of only half a metre.

Not that we haven’t experienced those sort of circumstances before but they seem to be occurring more often and becoming more severe. The consequences of climate change seem to be everywhere and it makes every aspect of the job difficult – particularly when it comes to sinking shafts.
